Keep the arts thriving in Derby
With ever-increasing demands on public funds, over the coming years it will fall to organisations such as Derby Choral Union to provide a wide variety of arts and entertainment activities for local residents.
Many are unaware it often costs more to hold a concert than ticket income covers: publicity, venue hire, professional soloists, accompaniment and performance licences all place financial pressure on us, especially as we continually seek to improve our offering to members and audience alike.
We have some ambitious aspirations over the coming years as we pass our 150th year and lay the foundations for the next chapter in the choir’s history. With your support we can continue to attract new members, raise our performance standards and increase our community involvement through the introduction of vocal workshops and ultimately keep performing arts thriving in Derby.
